The Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF) — Africa’s leading philanthropy dedicated to empowering African entrepreneurs, the foundation always start accepting applicant every beginning of the year.

Applications are made through TEFConnect,the digital networking hub for the African entrepreneurship ecosystem,created by the Foundation.
The TEF Entrepreneurship Programme is open to entrepreneurs from across Africa,either with new startup ideas or existing businesses of less than 3 years existence,operating in any sector. Successful applicants will join the over 9,000 current beneficiaries,from 54 African countries,and receive business training,mentoring,a non-refundable $5,000 of seed capital and global networking opportunities.

Last year,the Foundation received about 216,000 applications,with 42% coming from women entrepreneurs,from every country on the continent.
The Programme is a 10-year,$100 million commitment to identify,train,mentor and fund 10,000 young African entrepreneurs. The goal is to create millions of jobs and the revenue required for the sustainable development of the continent, implementing the philosophy of Africapitalism, which positions the private sector as the growth engine for Africa and emphasises the importance of creating social and economic wealth.

According to the Foundation’s 2018 Impact Report,70% of the total number of businesses in its alumni network were still operational two years after benefitting from the Programme. The report also identified an increase of 189% revenue generated and 197% increase in the number of additional jobs created by beneficiaries post-graduation from the Programme,as well as a 100% commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals.

TONY ELUMELU FOUNDATION (TEF) is an initiative of Dr Tony Elumelu – The Chairman of United Bank For Africa (UBA) to help support African Entrepreneurs for the purpose of developing the African.

Every year,the foundation opens up her application portal for smart entrepreneurs with viable ideas to apply.

Over the years,it has been recorded that over 300,000 applications were received all over Africa and just 1,000 – 3,000 entrepreneurs are being accepted and qualified every year.

THINGS TO PUT IN PLACE BEFORE APPLYING FOR TEEP (Tony Elumelu Empowerment Program)

  • You need a valid Email Address (i recommend Gmail)
  • You need a solution-based business idea that is capable of addressing human needs (SDGs) And can yield profit for you while running it.
  • You need to ensure you have access to a internet enabled laptop or computer because you may not be able to fill your form using just a smart phone.
  • Means of identification e.g voters card, national ID card, Driver license.
  • Have Microsoft Word installed on your laptop or computer.
  • You need to Ensure you are older than 18 years before applying.

    If you don’t have an idea you are already running for less than 3 years now (Remember you can’t apply with any idea/business you have ran for more than 3 years). If you have a business idea that’s less than 3 years,then apply with it if you feel it has the chances

    Calm down!
    Bring a notebook and pen Write down the problems of/in Africa.
    Write down possible solutions to these problems which leverages on technology.
    choose Three HOT business ideas from what you enlisted.

    Finally,Choose the BEST among all – The best must be something you have passion for. Something you can run if you get selected. It must be an idea that resonates with who you are and your natural abilities.
